Sunil Jakhar, a veteran Hindu leader of Congress in Punjab, has met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This is the first meeting after Jakhar left the Congress and joined the BJP. In this, BJP leaders Manjinder Sirsa and Arvind Khanna were also seen with him. Khanna contested the assembly elections from Sangrur assembly seat as a BJP candidate. However, he lost the seat. With his presence, there is speculation that the BJP under the leadership of Jakhar is now going to focus on the by-election of Sangrur Lok Sabha seat.

Khanna may contest Lok Sabha elections from Sangrur seat

Arvind Khanna has a good base in Sangrur. Apart from business, he is also associated with people through a social service organization. He has been a Congress MLA from Sangrur. However, this time in the storm of Aam Aadmi Party, Khanna also lost the election. Now from Sangrur seat, he can contest the Lok Sabha by-election as a BJP candidate.

Sunil Jakhar’s family stayed in Congress for 50 years. He remained in the party after father Balram Jakhar. Now his third generation nephew Sandeep Jakhar is the MLA from Abohar.
