Sunil Gavaskar supports Rahul Dravid to become the next head coach of Team India

Legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar has supported Rahul Dravid to take over the responsibility of the head coach of Team India. t20 world cup. After Dravid’s formal application, Gavaskar feels he doesn’t think anyone else needs to apply for the position.

“Without a doubt. I don’t think anyone else needs to apply now. The way he has handled the U-19 team, the way he has guided the U-19 team, the way he has worked in the NCA He shows his ability not only on the field but also off it,” Gavaskar said on Sports Tak.

“He is also good at administrative duties; He has that ability. And so I think his applying for the post is just a formality.”

Former India pacer Madan Lal also echoed Gavaskar’s opinion and emphasized on Dravid’s work as coach of India A and U-19 teams to strengthen his case.

“As mentioned by Sunny bhai, he has already led India A and U-19 teams in so many tours and recently coached the national team in Sri Lanka too, so when you start coaching from junior level So, you know the players who have come here. Rank,” Lal told Sports Tak.

The veteran pacer further said that this is the best thing as Dravid’s calm demeanor will take Team India to many heights.

“This is the best thing that has happened. He has graduated from below and there can be no better candidate than this. He has a calm demeanor and has many qualities that will help the Indian team go higher.”

Meanwhile, a BCCI official confirmed that Dravid had applied for the post on the last day.

“Yes, Rahul has applied formally today as it is the last day of the deadline. His team, bowling coach Paras (Mambre) and fielding coach Abhay (Sharma) have already applied for the NCA. His application was just a formality,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on Tuesday.
