Pandit Sukhram, who was active in Himachal Pradesh politics for 6 decades, is called the Phoenix of politics of the state, because whenever it is believed that Pandit Sukhram’s political career is about to come to a standstill, he is like a Phoenix, denying all the possibilities and speculations. Not only did he become active in politics again, but he proved his strong penetration. According to Arabic myth, the phoenix was a bird that reached to touch the rising sun, but was burned by the heat of the sun and then resurrected from its ashes. Pandit Sukh Ram was also like this.

Studied Law from Delhi

When the Congress expelled Pandit Sukhram from the party after being named in the scam as the Communications Minister in 1996, it seemed that the politics of Pandit Sukhram had come to an end, but he formed his own party Himachal Vikas Congress and not only for the first time in the March 1998 assembly elections. Instead of bringing a third front in the state, by getting its winning MLAs included in the BJP, the Congress, which won the maximum 31 seats, was kept away from forming the government.

Then brought the family into politics

Anil Sharma, son of Pandit Sukhram, became the Minister of State for Youth Affairs as soon as he won the Congress government in 1993, but when the BJP government was formed in 1998, Anil Sharma had no place, because Pandit Sukhram himself won from Anil Sharma’s seat. had come. When Pandit Sukhram got the BJP government formed, when the Rajya Sabha seat fell vacant, his son Anil Sharma was made a candidate from that seat and sent to the Rajya Sabha.
