Such fear of Kovid: A family imprisoned itself for 15 months when neighbor dies of infection in Andhra Pradesh

In East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, authorities on Wednesday rescued a family, whose health was in a very bad condition. This family of Kadali village had imprisoned themselves in the house for about 15 months due to fear of Corona. When any health worker used to reach their house, these people did not answer. Because of this their condition could not be ascertained.

Kadali sarpanch Chopalla Gurunath said that Ruthamma (50), Kantamani (32) and Rani (30) had imprisoned themselves in the house because one of their neighbors had died due to corona infection.

The sarpanch gave the information to the police, when an employee under the government housing scheme reached to collect the thumb impression of these people, it was found that he had imprisoned himself. He told this to the sarpanch and other villagers. The sarpanch said that due to being locked in the house for 15 months, the health of these people has deteriorated. When we came to know about this matter, we went to the police.

Police said that when these people were taken out of the house, their condition had become very bad. He had neither bathed nor had his hair cut for many days. We immediately took these people to the hospital, where their treatment is going on.
