Success Story: Meet IFS Jagpreet Kaur, Who Gave A Befitting Reply To Pakistan At UN

In 2016, Jagpreet Kaur came to Delhi to prepare for UPSC exam and in her first attempt in 2017 she could not clear prelims.

IFS Jagpreet Kaur, who recently came into limelight for giving a befitting reply to Pakistan, is an inspiration for her countrymen. IFS Kaur made headlines in March when she was being discussed everywhere after her bold reply to Pakistan. He lashed out at Pakistan on the Kashmir issue in the United Nations. Sharing his opinion on human rights, he gave a strong message that the people of Pakistan are deprived of democracy and they should first put their houses in order.

Jagpreet Kaur is a resident of a village in Punjab. Her parents are government school teachers and her brother is a counsellor. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar. Thereafter, he did M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Punjabi University, Patiala.

Jagpreet Kaur worked in the State Bank of India for 2 years before joining the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). In 2016, she came to Delhi to prepare for UPSC exam and in her first attempt in 2017, she could not clear prelims. Then she returned to Bathinda and started the preparation again. In her second attempt in 2018, she was successful and became an IFS officer by securing 101st rank.

Kaur started preparing for UPSC along with post graduation. He once said that every candidate has his own strategy and long term and short term goals should be made keeping in mind their strengths and weaknesses. Kaur said that once a goal is set, it becomes easier to achieve.

IFS Jagpreet Kaur said that to succeed in UPSC exam, it is very important to make an action plan every day and follow it. Give more and more mock tests to prepare yourself better as it will help you in time management and you will also understand your weak areas, he added. He also said that while preparing for Civil Services Exam one should be optimistic and surround oneself with people who motivate one to reach their goals every day.
