SILCHAR: All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students Association has demanded immediate transfer of Cachar deputy commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha over the arrest of principal of Cachar College, Silchar, Siddharta Shankar Nath.
He was arrested following charges of negligence during the recruitment examination for Class-IV posts held on last Sunday.
Addressing the media at Silchar Press Club on Wednesday, the students’ body chief advisor Rupam Nandi Purkyastha slammed the arrest following the FIR lodged by Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha.
The students also termed the alleged assault on Swadesh Ranjan Das, a faculty member, by the DC as unacceptable.
