Struggle on Hindutva in Maharashtra: Fadnavis said – Shiv Sena is soft on ‘Hindutva’ because of the alliance; Uddhav said- We left BJP, not Hindutva

Shiv Sena and BJP, who have run shoulder to shoulder with each other for 30 years, are once again at loggerheads over loudspeakers. On the last day of campaigning for the Kolhapur bypoll, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and former CM Devendra Fadnavis have targeted each other over the issue.

Fadnavis said that the Shiv Sena is soft on Hindutva due to the compulsions of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra. On the other hand, Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray hit back at Fadnavis’s statement, saying that we have left BJP, not Hindutva.

Fadnavis asked- Why do I get angry when Hanuman Chalisa is played?
Four MNS workers have been arrested late last night for playing Hanuman Chalisa with loudspeakers outside Shiv Sena Bhavan in Mumbai. Accusing Shiv Sena of giving up Hindutva and becoming ‘pseudo-secular’, former CM Fadnavis said, ‘Why do some people get angry when Hanuman Chalisa is played?

If they have no problem with the prayers of other religions on loudspeakers, then why is there a problem in playing Hanuman Chalisa?’ Fadnavis said the Shiv Sena is going soft on ‘Hindutva’ due to alliance constraints.

Thackeray said – Those who form government with Mufti should not teach ideology
Responding to this, Uddhav Thackeray said, “The BJP, which has forged an alliance with PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti for power, should not teach them how to follow an ideology. Does she (Mufti) speak Bharat Mata Ki Jai? We have left them (BJP), not Hindutva. They don’t have a Hindutva patent.

Uddhav further said that their Hindutva is of convenience, they use it when it suits them and spread hatred.

BJP’s ‘saffron’ is fake: Uddhav
Along with this, during this time he also said that, ‘Late Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray is the only Hindu heart emperor. BJP’s saffron is fake, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s saffron is real. He said it was Balasaheb who showed them (BJP) that saffron and Hindutva would take them on their way to Delhi. What about breaking the promise made by Amit Shah in Balasaheb’s room, which we consider to be a temple.’ Thackeray said his party has always been committed to ‘saffron’ and ‘Hindutva’.

Lost in Kolhapur elections because of BJP: Uddhav
Apart from all this, CM Thackeray blamed BJP for the defeat of Shiv Sena candidate in Kolhapur seat during the assembly elections in the year 2019. Let us inform that at that time there was an alliance of both the parties and Thackeray, who was involved in the campaign of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate Jayshree Jadhav through digital medium in the by-election to be held on April 12 in Kolhapur North seat, expressed surprise that ‘What BJP had a secret alliance with Congress in this seat in 2019 elections.

BJP hit back at Uddhav
He further said that the votes of Congress increased in the year 2014 as compared to the year 2019, as a result of which the Shiv Sena candidate lost despite the alliance with BJP. BJP retaliated on Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s statement. Maharashtra BJP state president Chandrakant Patil questioned that when Uddhav Thackeray knew that BJP had committed infidelity in this Kolhapur seat, why did he join the 2014 government?

Shiv Sena will support Congress: Uddhav
Thackeray said the Shiv Sena will support the Congress in the upcoming by-polls as his party respects the commitment made and is not a “stabber in the back”. The Shiv Sena is a constituent of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, while the other partners are the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

We don’t have talent to lie like opposition: CM
CM Uddhav further said that the Mahavikas Aghadi government is efficient, but it lacks the talent to lie like the opposition.” Your person (Kirit Somaiya) took money in the name of INS Vikrant and misused it. You (BJP) say If you are the most patriotic, why do you take the side of the man who took money and misused it?
