The day was 23 March 2017. The 10th board exam was to be held in Shyam Lal Inter College, Mathura. The exam starts at 7.50 am in the morning. During this, the investigation team of the board is also present in the college. The exam passed peacefully for almost half an hour.

The scene of the exam hall changed as soon as the investigation team left. Till now the students sitting on the seat silently now form a flock and start writing in the copy. All this was happening in front of the teacher giving duty inside the exam hall.

‘The first question is done, then tell the second’
In the exam hall where the children were sitting and taking the exam. At the same time, a voice echoes, “If the first question is done, then tell the second.”

This voice was of the children imitating standing outside the window. Those who were getting the answers to the questions of the paper one after the other were written aloud. They also had guides and some slips. More than a dozen people were also engaged outside the school to help him.

On the other hand, a different view was seen outside the examination center. At a distance of 500 meters from Shyam Lal Inter College, 5 to 6 motorcycles were parked on the side of the road as a strategy. There was also a plan of copying mafia behind this.

People standing near these motorcycles used to give the news of the arrival of the investigation team to the people who were copying in the school 5 minutes before. With this, when a team reached the school, the examinations going on there would have been made completely normal.

If more than 20 answer sheets were checked, the same data was found
When the police comes to know about the open copying in the school, then the school is surrounded. The board’s flying squad reaches the school and stops the exam. Answer sheets of more than 20 children are recovered, in which the data written is similar. After this the examination held in the school is cancelled.

Sealed by making a red mark on the copies of 55 students
The investigation of the matter is done at the DM level. The news of copying caught in Shyam Lal Inter College also starts doing the rounds in the media. After investigation, Mathura’s ADM AK Awasthi makes a big disclosure.

He said, “55 students have been caught copying in more than 30 schools including Shyam Lal Inter College. Red marks have been made on the copies of all. The recovered copies have been sent to the board. Action has been ordered on the school.” have been given.”

20 schools blacklisted till 2020
During the 2017 UP board exam, incidents of cheating are detected in about 35 schools in Mathura. A notice is issued against all these schools on behalf of District Education Officer Inder Prakash Singh. After this 20 inter colleges across the district are blacklisted for the board exams till 2020. The name of Shyam Lal Inter College is also included in this list.

To pass, children used to come from Jammu and give paper in Mathura.
A private school teacher living in Mathura’s Farah area, on the condition of anonymity, said, “Districts like Mathura, Ballia, Deoria, Ghazipur and Allahabad had become strongholds of cheating in the UP board exams in 2017-18. Many reports of cheating also came from Inter College in Mathura. Here children from UP, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi and even Jammu and Kashmir used to come to appear for exams to pass.”

He further says, “Not only the mafia but also the people of the school management are involved in cheating in the board exams. Many times, from the principal to the manager of the schools also take the responsibility of getting the children to copy by taking money. It is that the copies of board exams are written outside. Then when the exam copies are collected, the copies written outside are mixed in these.”
