Stock markets update: Equity benchmark indices opened in negative on Monday, the first day of the new year 2024, amid weak global cues. In the early trade, the 30-share BSE Sensex declined 207.29 points to 72,032.97. Meanwhile, the Nifty also fell by 46.65 points to 21,684.75 points.
