Sensex Today: Major benchmark indices opened with losses on Friday morning amid a mixed trend in global markets.

Globally, US markets traded mixed overnight as investors awaited signs of a debt ceiling deal.
That said, better-than-expected earnings from software company Nvidia helped the NASDAQ Composite Index rise more than 1 percent, while the Dow Jones declined 0.1 percent and the S&P 500 gained 0.8 percent.
In Asia-Pacific, Japanese headline inflation edged to a massive high this morning after easing from 3.5 percent in April to 3.2 percent in May. The Nikkei 225, Topix and Kospi indices rose up to 0.4 percent each while Hong Kong markets were closed for a holiday.
In the commodity market, Brent crude prices fell marginally to $76 a barrel, while WTI crude rose 0.1 per cent to $71 a barrel.
