Stock Market Holiday 2023: BSE, NSE to Remain Shut on These 15 Days; Check List

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed on 15 weekdays in 2023 due to holidays. Although there are a total of 19 holidays, four of them will fall on weekends when the country’s stock markets are closed. for trading.

There are no weekdays in February and July, but one each in January, May, June, August, September and December. BSE and NSE will be closed for two weeks each in March, October and November in this calendar year. In April, the month with the maximum number of holidays, the country’s stock market will be closed for three weekdays. In the calendar year 2022, the stock market remained closed for 13 days.

The only stock exchange holiday in the month of January will be on Thursday, January 26, on the occasion of India’s 73rd Republic Day.

There is no holiday on weekdays in February. Although Mahashivaratri falling on Saturday is on 18 February this year.

NSE and BSE will remain closed on Tuesday, March 7 on account of Holi. The other holiday in March is Ram Navami on Thursday, March 30.

The stock markets in India will remain closed for three days in April. The first holiday of the month is due to Mahavir Jayanti on Tuesday, April 4. Three days later, on April 7, the markets will remain closed on account of Good Friday. A week later, on Friday, April 14, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti will be a holiday. Another holiday in April is Eid al-Fitr (Ramadan Eid), which falls on the 22nd Saturday of the month.

Monday, May 1, which is Maharashtra Day, is the only holiday in the month of 2023.

The next working day off is almost a month away, on Wednesday, June 28, on the occasion of Bakrid. This is the only holiday in June.

There will be no working holidays in the month of July, with only one holiday falling on Saturday, the 29th, on the occasion of Muharram.

The 76th Independence Day, which falls on Tuesday, August 15, is the only weekday in the month of July.

Like August, September also has only one weekday holiday—Ganesh Chaturthi on Tuesday, September 19.

In October, markets will be closed for two days, Gandhi Jayanti on Monday, 2 October and Dussehra on Tuesday, 24 October.

There are a total of three holidays in November, one of which falls on a Sunday. This day is the holiday of Lakshmi Puja on 12th November. NSE and BSE will remain closed on Tuesday, November 14 on account of Diwali Balipratipada, Monday and November 27 on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

The only holiday in December is Christmas, which will fall on Monday, December 25 next year.
