BATHINDA: Close to three months after the murder of Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh ‘Sidhu Moose Wala’, his parents on Sunday gave the state government a week to deliver justice before his fans start a street agitation. Asking Moose Wala’s fans to take out candle marches, they claimed that killing two of the contract killers and arresting a few others wasn’t complete justice, since the plotters remained out of reach.
The singer’s mother, Charan Kaur, asked the people to imagine the pain of the woman Moose Wala was to marry. Addressing the singer’s fans assembled at his residence on Sunday, Moose Wala’s father, Balkaur Singh, turned angry and said that: “We have waited for three months justice. I have come to know that the murderers had brought an AK-47 for Rs 8 lakh and spent Rs 15 lakh on pistols. They bought arms worth Rs 60 lakh just to kill Sidhu. Their source of money and weapons needs to be investigated but the government is not ready to answer this.”
Balkaur Singh said that some of those hired gurns had fled to Canada after the crime, and “some high-profile people sitting in Homeland and other housing societies of Mohali” were the eyes and ears of those gangsters. He said: “They make money from dispute settlement and ransom. Sidhu knew, that’s why he preferred to live in village instead of Chandigarh. He even mentioned Homeland in one of his songs. They had snatched his comfort for 4 years.”
Charan Kaur said: “Killing two of the shooters is not enough. We want the entire gang. Those who fled to Canada will get no respite even there. We will not rest until we get complete justice. If no one back us, both of us (pointing to her husband) will continue the agitation.”
Sidhu Moose Wala was killed inside his Thar jeep on May 29 at Jawaharke village near Mansa. Canada-based gangster Satvinder Singh ‘Goldy Brar’ took the responsibility, Lawrance Bishnoi and 20 other gangsters are under arrest, and shooters Jagroop Rupa and Manpreet Mannu were killed in a police encounter. The 90 given days for filing a charge sheet will get over on August 28.
