‘Still Don’t Need You’ – Jasprit Bumrah’s Secret Note Goes Viral

After India lost the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand, critics called out some bowlers who failed to work their magic on the field. The allusion was to Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was out of form for the past few months. The right-arm pacer was unable to take wickets in the WTC final. Ahead of the first Test match against England, videos and pictures from the practice session were shared by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). Once again internet users did not miss an opportunity to troll Bumrah for his poor form. Many people even raised eyebrows when they were selected in the team against England.

However, the cricketer had shut down all the critics and trolls as he took a total of 9 wickets in the first test match against the hosts. He confidently led India’s bowling unit against the England batting line-up in both the innings, leaving the British no chance to make a comeback. In the first innings, Bumrah took 4 wickets, while in the second innings he took five-fors. It was not only a response to trolls and critics, but the cricketer also managed to earn another mention on the Trent Bridge Honors Board.

Despite the unit’s best efforts, the match ended in a draw due to bad weather, mainly rain. Though cricket fans were left disappointed and dismayed, Bumrah shared a few pictures of him taking the wicket on social media.

On 9 August, Ric-arm Tej posted two pictures of himself through his Twitter handle. While in one click he is seen shouting loudly after dismissing a batsman, in another he is looking up at the sky and thanking God. But what caught everyone’s attention was the caption of the post. “Still don’t need you,” wrote Bumrah.

This left the netizens to speculate as to whom the bowler was pointing at and hence, they came up with their own assumptions. Commenting on the trollers, one of the Twitter users wrote, “It’s time to appreciate them, which was bigger than their disrespect towards you a few days ago.”

Some even termed Bumrah’s performance as “one of the biggest comebacks in cricket history”.

There will be a face-off between India and England for the second Test match starting 12 August at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
