Steve Jobs email reveals Apple planned a smaller, affordable iPhone Nano in early 2010

Apple iPhone is considered an expensive smartphone, in which iPhone SE The series is the only affordable iPhone in the lineup so far. However, an email obtained by The Verge from Apple founder Steve Jobs revealed that the company was planning to launch an iPhone “Nano” which was a miniaturized version of the Apple iPhone at the time. A 2010 email shows Steve Jobs and Apple design chief Jony Ive building an iPhone Nano in 2010. This was at the time when the iPhone had a smaller 3.5-inch display. In 2010, the Apple iPhone 4 was the latest iPhone to come with a smaller 2.5-inch display.

The Verge reports that the iPhone Nano was actually rumored back in 2011 to offer a smaller and cheaper alternative to the top-of-the-line iPhone 4 at the time. While Apple never released the product, a recent email from Jobs confirms that the iPhone “Nano” was actually the concept. The email doesn’t reveal much about the iPhone nano. It only shows a bullet point for the “iPhone Nano plan” and a sub-bullet point for its “cost target, and another that said “Jonny”, alluding to Jony Ive, the former design chief at Apple. Also, earlier on the agenda is a “2011 Strategy” bullet, with a sub-bullet that says “Build a low-cost iPhone model based on the iPod Touch to replace it”. iphone 3gsBut it is not clear whether this is referring to the iPhone Nano or any other device.
