Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7/2) to win his first title on grass at the Mallorca Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7/2) in the final of the Mallorca Open to win his first title on the grass on Saturday.

World number 6 Tsitsipas held his nerves in a decisive tiebreak after failing to wrap up the match 5-3.

His ninth career title was also Tsitsipas’ second title of the season after retaining his Monte Carlo title in April.

Ranking number six Tsitsipas drew against Switzerland’s Alexander Ritschard in the opening round of Wimbledon.

Bautista Agut was also trying for his second title of 2022, and to add to his 10 career titles.

Last year’s French Open runners-up have lost in the first round on three of their four visits to the All England Club.
