“I immediately got up to inform the flight attendant about what had happened. My clothes, shoes and bag were drenched in urine. After standing for 20 minutes, the victim was offered a small seat used by airline staff, where she sat for about two hours. After this he was asked to return to his seat. The FIR states that when she refused, the victim was offered the steward’s seat for the rest of the journey.

Later, the flight staff informed the victim that the perpetrator wanted to apologize to her. In response, she said that she did not want to interact with him or see his face and wanted him to be arrested upon arrival.

Air India on Wednesday said it has banned the accused passenger from flying for 30 days and constituted an internal panel to probe whether there was lapse on the part of the crew in handling the situation.

In an internal communication to employees, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson asked airline employees to report any inappropriate behavior on the plane to the authorities at the earliest, even if the matter has been resolved.
