Mandya: The district administration has decided to celebrate historic Srirangapatna Dasara for five days starting from September 28, Mandya district in-charge minister K Gopalaiah said on Monday.
He reviewed the preparations made for Dasara celebrations in Srirangapatna with the officials led by DC S Ashwathi.
In 2021, Dasara was celebration was restricted to three days. This year, a grant of Rs 1 crore has been released by the government, he added.
The district administration has set up several committees to organise yoga Dasara, farmers’ Dasara, sports Dasara, children’s Dasara and women’s Dasara. The town will be specially illuminated this year, he said.
