Srinagar Terror Attack: Body of J&K Police Sub-Inspector reaches Kupwara. India News – Times of India

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Body of newly appointed Sub-Inspector Arshid Ahmed MiriThose who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Srinagar on Sunday reached their home in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara for the last rites on Sunday evening.
On Sunday afternoon, terrorists attacked a police party at Khanyar in old Srinagar city, where Mir was shot dead by terrorists in Khanyar and later succumbed to his injuries.
J&K Police tweeted, “Mr. Arshid Ahmad Mir, Probation Sub-Inspector grievously injured in the cowardly attack by terrorists at Khanyar, Srinagar. He was taken to the hospital, where he went to heaven.”

Reacting to the incident, Jammu and Kashmir DGP, Dilabag Singh said, “We have lost a brave young officer. He was learning the nuances of the police. It is a very sad loss for us and his family.” We express our deepest condolences. The culprits are involved. The case has been identified and they will be brought to justice.”
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha also condemned the act. “I strongly condemn the ruthless killing of our brave police officer Arshad Ashraf Mir by terrorists. It is the handiwork of enemies of humanity and peace. Their supreme sacrifice will not go in vain, terrorists will be punished for this act. Hardik Shaheed K Condolences to the family,” tweeted Sinha.
Later in the day, a wreath laying ceremony was held for the police personnel at District Police Line Srinagar. Senior police officers were led by DGP Dilbagh Singh. Paramilitary forcesCivil, Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) officers and relatives paid floral tributes to SI Arshid Ahmad Mir.
