Actor Mahesh Thakur, known for his roles in films like Hum Saath Saath Hain, recently shared his experience of working alongside the late actor Sridevi. Mahesh and Sridevi starred together in the television show Malini Iyer, which aired on Sahara One in 2004. Produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Satish Kaushik, Mahesh portrayed Sridevi’s husband in the series. Reflecting on his time with her, Mahesh mentioned that nobody dared to approach Sridevi, as she was perceived as intimidating by everyone.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mahesh said, “She (Sridevi) was a sweetheart and she will always live in my heart. She was the kindest artiste I have ever worked with. Because of her celebrity status, nobody used to go near her. If she is sitting on a chair, people will be six to seven feet away from her. Nobody used to walk close. Everybody felt intimidated.”

He added that when he first met Sridevi, she was very down-to-earth. “When I first met her, she was a very humble soul and on the first day, I had a suhaagraat scene with her. We rehearsed and read lines together.”

In a previous interview with Indian Express, Mahesh had opened up on the romantic scenes he shared with Sridevi in Malini Iyer. He mentioned how comfortable she made everyone feel on set, even renowned choreographer Prabhudeva, despite the pressure of performing under Satish Kaushik’s direction. “Here I was getting to romance her. Since we had a lot of romantic scenes, we really gelled up well. Also with Satish ji at the helm, it was stressful for any actor to be performing there. But, I think the sense of comfort that Sridevi brought with her… it made things really easy. I remember Prabhudeva had been signed to shoot some initial dance scenes and he too was in awe of her. While we were petrified, she was as welcoming as ever,” he had said.
