Sri Lanka beat Australia by 4 wickets

Sri Lanka carried out a robbery against Australia in the third and final T20 as captain Dasun Shanaka Scored 19 runs in the last over vs Richardson and won the match by four wickets.

It all started with Australia winning the toss and electing to bat first. Batting first, Warner and Finch got the Kangaroos off to a solid start, before Tikshana dispatched Finch.

Maxwell came in at number three, hit a couple of sixes and left. Warner and Inglis followed suit, and from 85/1, Australia were suddenly reduced to 85/4.

Steve Smith 37 off 27 balls and Stoinis smashed 38 off 23 balls to take AUS to 176 at the end of 20 overs.

Chasing 177, SL lost Danushka Gunathilaka early. Pathum Nisanka and Charith Aslanka stabilized the ship, making 27 and 26 respectively, and anchored somewhat in pursuit.

Sri Lanka, however, lost steam in the middle overs, with the run-rate climbing above 12 per over. When they were 6 down, and as high as the run rate, no one gave them a chance.

But Captain Shanaka had a different plan. The match kept boiling till the last over and Sri Lanka needed 19 runs to win. Richardson bowled the last over and started with two wides. This was followed by some singles followed by some boundaries.

SL needed 7 from the last 2 balls to win, and that’s when Shanaka came into her own, and hit a six off the final delivery to set the chase. Richardson completed the formalities by bowling a wide to give Sri Lanka their first win of the series.
