NEW DELHI: Sri Lanka opposition chief Sajith Premadasa withdrew on Tuesday from the race to grow to be president of the island nation, with a purpose to assist a rival candidate.
“For the larger good of my nation that I like and the folks I cherish, I hereby withdraw my candidacy for the place of president,” Premadasa stated on Twitter.
