spicejet: SpiceJet flight rejects take off in Mumbai over engine problem – Times of India

MUMBAI: Pilots of a SpiceJet Bombardier Q400 aircraft operating a flight from Mumbai to Kishangarh, Ajmer on Tuesday were forced to reject the take-off roll following problems with the aircraft’s right engine. No injuries to people on board reported.
“During take off roll, engine number two stall system failure and pusher system failure caution light came and the take off was rejected,” said a source. Flight SG-2871 has been delayed due to the incident.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officers from air safety and air-worthiness have reached the Mumbai airport to investigate the incident, said a source.
Pilots have been taken off duty and the airline is arranging another set of crew to operate the flight, the source added.
A statement from the airline is awaited.
This is the second safety-related matter concerning SpiceJet this week.
On Sunday, a SpiceJet Boeing 737-800 aircraft, operating a flight from Mumbai to Durgapur flew encountered severe turbulence on descent.
A total of fourteen passengers and three cabin crew sustained injuries, two of whom needed to be admitted to an ICU.
