SP fielded cow smuggler for the post of block chief, BJP counterattack Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: As the political platform in Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for another grassroots election on July 10, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has opened its front against the Samajwadi Party.SP) to field a cow smuggler from Kaurihar block of the district.
Senior BJP leader Ashish Gupta told TOI on Friday, “At a time when the Yogi-led state government is opening gaushalas and other projects for the protection of cows, the SP has nominated Mohammad Muzaffar for the post of block chief from Kaurihar block. Dropped into the field. SP is relying on goons to contest the election of block chief and hooliganism is their identity.
Gupta said the rival camp, especially the SP, has lost its cool after seeing a series of development works and projects being carried out by the BJP-led state government.
He said, ‘Samajwadi Party is losing its support base in UP. The real face of SP has been exposed ever since it has fielded a man with huge criminal record including cases of cow smuggling as its candidate for the block chief elections.
However, SP district spokesperson Dan Bahadur “Madhur” said that the cases against the party candidate are “politically motivated”. He said that the BJP is abusing itself after realizing its defeat in the block major elections.
Madhur said, “BJP party has been leveling false allegations against the candidate, but this court will decide whether the allegations are true or not.” BJP is only misusing its power.
Purmufi police of Prayagraj district has registered a case against Muzaffar and 13 of his close associates under the Gangster Act for cow smuggling. Before the police could catch him, he surrendered in a local court and was sent behind bars.
A senior police officer said that Muzaffar has more than a dozen criminal cases registered against him in different districts of the range including Prayagraj, Kaushambi and Fatehpur.
