SP fears that BJP will bring back three agriculture laws after assembly elections. India News – Times of India

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party Referring to the statements of Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and Unnao BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj, on Sunday expressed apprehension that three controversial agriculture laws would be brought back after the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
The state Congress also targeted the BJP saying that the Center is on the back foot and its intentions are bad.
Both Mishra and Maharaj told reporters on Saturday that the law could be brought back if needed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Friday announced that the Center would repeal agricultural laws after nearly a year-long agitation by a section of farmers, mostly from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Farmer leaders said protesters would remain in Delhi’s border areas until the Center formally repeals the laws in Parliament, and hinted that there is a need to withdraw the statutory guarantee of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the Electricity Amendment Bill. His movement will continue for this.
In a tweet in Hindi, the Samajwadi Party alleged, ‘It is absolutely clear that their heart is not clean and bills will be brought again after the elections. Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj holding constitutional posts. Said that the BJP government can bring a bill for agricultural laws.”
The SP said in the tweet, “This is the truth of those who made false apologies to the farmers. In 2022, farmers will bring change.”
UP Congress Committee general secretary Sharad Mishra, opening a front against the BJP, said, ‘I believe that the Center is on the backfoot, and because of the strength of the opposition and the pressure of farmers’ protests, the government announced. Repeal of three agricultural laws.
“It was done reluctantly and the intention is malicious. There is every possibility that something will be done by the government to bring back the agricultural laws, may be in other forms. But, this too will be strongly opposed.”
Mishra said in Bhadohi on Saturday that efforts were made to explain the provisions and positive aspects of agricultural laws to the farmers, but the farmers were demanding and opposing the withdrawal of three agricultural laws. Eventually, the government felt that the laws would be withdrawn, and if there was a need to re-enact the law, it would be done, he said.
“Farmers were constantly demanding that the agricultural laws be withdrawn, and it was done in a very civilized manner. It is a good move and a right decision,” Mishra said.
Speaking to reporters in Unnao on Saturday, BJP MP Maharaj said, “Bills are made and repealed. They will come again, and will be made again. It hardly takes any time (bills to bante rehte hai, bigarhte rehte hai…vaapas) aajaayenge, dobaaraa ban jaayenge…koi der nahi lagtee hai).
“But, I will thank Modi ji for showing a big heart, and that he chose the country over the laws. And those whose intentions were wrong, those who raised slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Khalistan Zindabad, have got a befitting reply.
He also categorically stated that there is no connection between the announcement of repeal of agricultural laws with the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
“In the UP 2022 assembly elections, BJP (403-member) will cross the 300 mark in the UP assembly. In India, there is no alternative to (Prime Minister) Modi and (UP Chief Minister) Yogi Adityanath. Their magic will remain,” he said. .
