Srinagar: Two unidentified terrorists were killed in a brief encounter on Saturday in Shattipora area of Bijbhera in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said that two terrorists were killed in the brief encounter. However, the identity of the slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier reports said that a joint team of police and army had launched a cordon and search operation in Shatipora.
As the joint team of forces moved towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security forces, triggering an encounter. (GNS)
