South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has broken the silence on social media after her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. She has given her reaction to the speculations on the reasons for the divorce and various rumours, in an Instagram story.
I won’t let myself break
Samantha began the note thanking her fans and wrote, “I am overwhelmed to see your emotional investment in your personal crisis. I am grateful to all of you for showing your deepest sympathy and concern to me in the midst of false rumors and news. He says that I have many affairs, I never wanted children, I am ready and now news is coming that I have done many abortions. Samantha further wrote, Divorce itself is a very painful process. So give me a chance to overcome this alone. Such personal attacks on me are very harsh but I promise you all that I will not allow myself to be broken by such things.
Samantha-Naga announce divorce
Samantha wrote on her social media account on October 2, ‘To all our well-wishers – after many deliberations and thoughts, Chai (Naga Chaitanya) and I have decided to separate as husband and wife. Has decided. We are fortunate that a friendship that lasted for more than a decade was at the core of our relationship. We believe that we will always have a special bond.’

The actress further wrote, ‘We request our fans, well-wishers and media to support us in this difficult time and give us privacy so that we can move forward from this.’ The couple was keeping silent for the past several days on the news of divorce. According to reports, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya were counseled in the family court after the decision of divorce came. However, the two did not change their decision to part ways.
Broken marriage before 4th wedding anniversary
Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya’s first marriage took place on 6 October 2017 in Goa. According to Hindu customs and then on 7th October according to Christian customs. After marriage, Samantha had put Akkineni in front of her name. However, amid reports of separation, Samantha removed Akkineni from her Twitter handle and changed it to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. On October 6, both of them were about to complete four years of marriage but before that both got separated. Naga Chaitanya was ready to pay an alimony of 200 crores to Samantha in lieu of divorce. But the actress refused to take it.
