Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly confidently predicted the four semi-finalists for the 2023 World Cup to be held in India. The tournament, in its 13th edition, is scheduled to begin on 5 October and conclude with the final on 19 November. Despite India being the favorite as the host country, competition between the teams is intense, making it difficult to determine a clear winner. Or even the four semi-finalists. Following a similar format to the 2019 edition, the tournament will see ten teams play in round-robin fashion, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals.
Ganguly included the past three champions England, Australia and India in his list of semi-finalists. However, he left South Africa and Sri Lanka out of his choices, leaving the fourth spot open for dispute between the two teams.

Ganguly’s excitement was evident as he highlighted that one of the semi-finals will be held at the iconic Eden Gardens in his hometown Kolkata. This famous venue previously hosted the final of the 1987 World Cup, the 2016 T20 World Cup and the semi-finals of the 1996 World Cup.

If India qualifies for the semi-finals, their match will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. However, if they face Pakistan in the knockout tie, the game will be held in Kolkata. Pakistan’s semi-final is scheduled to take place at the Eden Gardens, regardless of the opponent.
