SS Rajamouli writes a letter of appreciation for Team Sooryavanshi; Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar thank filmmaker
before the release of Akshay Kumar-starrer “Sooryavanshi”, filmmaker SS Rajamouli on Wednesday (November 3) sent best wishes to the film’s team and lauded them for holding the film amidst the uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cop-Drama, Directed by Rohit Shetty, after being postponed several times due to the pandemic, will finally have daylight on November 5.
Rajamouli took to social media and penned a letter of appreciation for the “Sooryavanshi” team, as he wished the film “great success”.
The writer-director wrote, “Congratulations on the stupendous success of Sooryavanshi… Heartfelt appreciation to the team for sustaining the film for more than a year and a half to revive the theater business in these difficult times.”
“Sooryavanshi” was originally scheduled to hit the theaters on March 24, 2020, but got delayed after the theaters were shut in the wake of the pandemic.
After another delay, the makers had planned to release it on April 30 this year, but the second wave of COVID-19 scrapped their plans. On September 25, soon after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the reopening of cinema halls in the state from October 22, Shetty announced the theatrical worldwide release of “Sooryavanshi” on Diwali.
Kumar, who plays the protagonist in the film, thanked Rajamouli and said that he is hoping for the best. “Many thanks to @ssrajamouli for the best wishes, hoping for the best while keeping our fingers crossed tightly,” the actor tweeted.
the creator Karan Johar Rajamouli also expressed his gratitude and said, “Thank you @ssrajamouli, means the world itself is coming from the vagaries of cinema!”
Rohit Shetty and Shibasish Sarkar of Reliance Entertainment also thanked Rajamouli.
“Sooryavanshi” is the fourth film in Shetty’s cop universe, which also features Ajay Devgn and K. Ranveer singh Who has played the role of policemen in the director’s previous films “Singham” franchise and “Simmba” respectively.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli is gearing up for the release of his latest “Rise Roar Revolt” (RRR), which will hit the theaters on January 7, 2022. The Telugu film has been specially produced by South stars Ram Charan and NT Rama Rao Jr. appearances by actors Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgan.
