Heartfelt tributes were paid to Sidhu Moose Wala by his fans in the United States. On Saturday, which would have marked the late singer’s 29th birthday, fans gathered at New York City’s iconic Times Square to remember him. In the video from NYC, fans were seen remembering through the singer’s lyrics. Sidhu Moose Wala died on 29 May. He was shot dead in Punjab.

Musewala, who was also a Congress leader, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mansa district. According to the autopsy report, there were 19 bullet marks on the singer’s body. His cousin and a friend, who were traveling with him in a jeep, were also injured in the attack and are now said to be in a stable condition. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, the main accused in the murder case, has come to the fore.
Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Tora, who is heading the SIT probe, told the media earlier this week that the police have found important leads and are working on them.
Meanwhile, the last Ardas (last prayer) of Moosewala was held earlier at the Baharli Anaj Mandi in Punjab’s Mansa. Thousands of fans joined the late singer’s family to remember him. Pictures of flower-clad frames, crowds gathered at the ceremony and more at the time surfaced online.
When asked whether the Mansa police would take Bishnoi on remand, the SSP confirmed it. “Definitely. We know that Delhi Police has taken Bishnoi’s remand. After that we will get him involved in the investigation as per law.”
