Song Joong-ki reveals that he was angered by the rumors being spread about his wife, Katy.
Song Jong-ki opened up about his wife, Katy Louise Saunders, in a new interview. The Vincenzo actor admitted that he was upset with the fake news being spread about him.
South Korean actor Song Jong-ki has opened up about his newlywed wife, Katy Louise Saunders, for the first time. The couple surprised fans a few weeks ago by not only confirming their relationship but also announcing that they have tied the knot and are expecting their first child. While fans were clearly over the moon for the actor, who was previously married to Song Hye-kyo, a section of the internet also spread rumors about Katy. One of whom claimed that she is a single mother.
Song Joong-ki recently opened up about the rumors in an interview and admitted that she is upset by the claims. “At first I was fine. It was an everyday occurrence for us, and even if many people knew about it, our love would not change. But then when the crazy stories kept cropping up, I honestly got angry. Except for the name of the university he attended (Milan Bocconi University), none of the rumors were true,” he told GQ Korea, as reported by Soompi.
The Vincenzo actor said, “When I was getting angry, Katy told me, ‘You don’t need to be angry with these people.’ I can’t say much about it here, but she is that kind of person, she takes me in a positive direction and balances me.
Describing the love of her life as a ‘friend who trusts in many aspects’, Song Joong-ki also briefly talked about her wedding day. “That day, I registered my marriage and went straight to the site for the movie ‘My Name Is Loh Kiwan’ to read the script and gosa (a traditional Korean ritual to pray for good luck when a big event begins).” After we finished, Katie and I had a late dinner together. It was a really busy day,” he said.
Song Joong-ki and Katy made their first public appearance at the airport last week while the couple were on their way to Hungary for the Korean actor’s upcoming film. The couple was escorted by a sea of media and Song Jong-ki was making sure to shield her from the chaos.
