New Delhi: India’s largest home video streaming platform ZEE5 has all the reasons to celebrate after the release of its recent original series, ‘The Broken News’. Premiered on June 10, 2022, the series not only marked Sonali Bendre’s return to acting and a much-talked-about OTT debut, but also marked the first collaboration of ZEE5 and BBC India.
On the success of her digital debut, Sonali Bendre said, “I am overwhelmed by the love we have received for The Broken News. Directed by Vinay Vaikul, ‘The Broken News’ has garnered over 100 million streaming minutes and over 6 million views in a week since its premiere. Centered around a pair of rival television channels operating from the same Mumbai building, the 8-part series represents two opposing philosophies of journalism and immerses viewers in the workings behind the scenes of a newsroom. It also addresses some pressing questions and reflects the current realities going on in the world’s largest democracy.
