Sonali Bendre: The actors I worked with are still popular even though the women of that era are not in the same field. Specific

Sonali Bendre recently made her OTT debut with the web series The Broken News. This was his return to acting after his cancer treatment. While the show received positive reviews from both the audience and critics, in an exclusive conversation with News18.com, Sonali spoke about how nervous she was before the release. When asked if she is hesitating too, Sonali agreed and said that she wouldn’t be disappointed if people didn’t like the show.

“Whenever you do a role or you do something, especially one that is so public, there is always a concern about how the reaction will be. I feel like someone has been in the public eye for so long and one has gone through so many things that for me, I definitely have one thing (hesitation) that I want the audience to like me by showing, I want that love from them, I want them to enjoy. But will I break if they don’t break? No, I guess I’d say ‘well, what was it that they didn’t like, let’s fix that and find something good’. Not in a bad way, but life has to go on,” Sonali said.

During the interview, the 47-year-old actress also talked about the 90s actresses coming back on screen in recent times. When asked what she thinks has prompted the change in dynamics, Sonali said, “OTT, the fact that there are different stories being told, the fact that there are so many new voices and mainly There are different types of stories and there are places to tell different stories. ,

“It’s a business, if you can’t put it out, if it doesn’t recover the money that went into making it, it’s not going to be the next one. I think these OTT platforms have made small films, different types of films and specific subjects. For the longest time, there was no place where you could hear these voices, where you could see them. These forums gave space to these voices.”

Sonali also spoke about how the advent of OTT has changed everything – from the way directors work to the way actors act. He said, ‘The stories which were not getting a place on the big screen, are now getting a place here. The moment these stories take place, the whole ecosystem around them changes, be it technicians, writers or directors, the way you act changes, so the actors change and everything changes. ,

Sonali also mentioned how the male actors she worked with are still working, but on the other hand, female actors of that era are rarely seen. When asked if she thought ‘Har actor ka time hota hai‘ applies more only to women, Sonali shared, “I would love to deny it but I can’t because it’s the truth. The actors I was working with are still working while Women like me and us of that era are not in that field. So yes, that is the reality. But having said that there is a lot of discussion about it and I am sure it is heading towards the right path. Really happy that we are getting a chance to really do the things we love and I don’t think it is just in India but all over the world.”
