Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha opened up on her father Shatrughan Sinha’s reaction after watching him play a cop in Dahad.

Sonakshi Sinha recently made her digital debut with the Amazon Prime Video Original Series, Dahad. His portrayal of a powerful cop belonging to a lower caste in a small town in western India earned him widespread acclaim and rave reviews. Interestingly, his father, veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has also played several police characters in films such as Shaitaan (1974), Kotwal Saab (1977), Be-Reham (1980) and Chor Police (1983). Other.

In an exclusive chat with News18, Sonakshi spoke about her reaction after watching her father play a cop in the web series. “He still hasn’t finished watching Dahad because he’s traveling too much. But I do know that he’s seen four episodes. He’s so excited that he calls me every day and asks me what’s next. It’s about to happen. I tell him, ‘Papa, see the meeting,'” she says with a laugh.

Sonakshi had earlier revealed that her father would tell his friends that she would become a police officer. And that is probably the reason why he is happy with her work in the show. “I know he loved it. He is extremely thrilled because every day he sends me forwarded messages of his friends who message him and compliment the show and me. I know he is very proud,” she says.

Sonakshi calls him her ‘cheerleader’ and tells us that no matter how busy he is, he leaves no stone unturned to attend the premieres of her films and support her. He said, ‘When he saw the teaser and trailer, he was very happy. My father is my biggest fan. He loves everything I do. When I sent them the teaser, they forwarded it to everyone they know. he is so sweet! It doesn’t matter which part of the country he is in, he makes sure he comes back and attends screenings or premieres of my films. It makes all my hard work worth it,” commented the 35-year-old.

Known as the face of commercial films, Sonakshi has received rave reviews from Lootera (2013) and now Dahad. Was there ever a time when she felt inferior as an actress in her 13 years of career? “Sometimes, I felt like it, and sometimes, not so much. But I am really happy that people like Reema (Kagti) and Zoya (Akhtar) have noticed it and allowed me to play and show my abilities. Gave me something like Dahad to show. I hope more directors and filmmakers approach me with roles and characters like Anjali Bhati who push me to my limits. I am very grateful to them for doing so,” says the actor who is currently shooting for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

The past few years haven’t been particularly exciting for Sonakshi as Bhuj: The Pride of India (2021) and Double XL (2022) underperformed at the box office and received mixed responses. But the success of the roar has ended the drought. She tells us that her phone hasn’t stopped ringing since its release.

So, how is she dealing with the attention? “I had reached a point where nothing really bothered or excited me whether it was good or bad. I am still in that place. So, whatever is happening at the moment, whatever Whether it’s the number of calls or messages I get during the day or what I see online on social media, it’s making me happy, but I’m quite Zen about it,” she says, adding, “I Enjoying it and loving the feeling as it has happened after a very long time. I think I am handling it pretty well.” ,
