Maneka Gandhi, who served as the Union Minister for Women and Child Development in the first term of the Narendra Modi government, said that a community in Ladakh uses donkey milk to make soap.

Do you dream of keeping your body “beautiful forever”? BJP MP and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has recently said that soap made from donkey’s milk helps in keeping a woman’s body beautiful.

In a speech that has gone viral on social media, the Member of Parliament from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh said that a very famous Egyptian queen named Cleopatra used to bathe in donkey’s milk.

The cost of soap made from donkey’s milk is Rs 500 in Delhi. Why don’t we start making soap from goat’s milk and donkey’s milk?” He said while addressing a program in Sultanpur.

Gandhi, who served as the Union Minister for Women and Child Development in the first term Narendra Modi Sarkar said that a community in Ladakh uses donkey’s milk to make soap.

“When was the last time you saw a donkey? Their numbers are falling. The washerman has stopped using donkeys. There is a community in Ladakh that has seen a decline in the population of donkeys. So he started making soap from donkey’s milk. Soaps made from donkey’s milk always keep a woman’s body beautiful.

Expressing concern over the rapid deforestation, the former minister suggested that aromatic ingredients should be added to cow dung sticks so that it can be used for cremation of the dead.

“The wood has become so expensive that even when it dies, the family remains poor. The cost of wood is around Rs 15,000-20,000. Instead, we should add aromatic ingredients to the cow dung sticks and use them for the cremation of the dead. This will bring down the cost of rituals to only Rs 1,500-2,000 and you can earn lakhs by selling these sticks,” said Gandhi.
