Joshimath’s class 12th student has secured first position in the district and fourth position in the state.

The Uttarakhand Board of School Education declared the Class 10 and Class 12 results on May 25, 2023. As per the results, Snehlata of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Joshimath secured the first position in the district with 98.4 per cent marks. Intermediate Board Exam. Joshimath town was declared as a ‘landslide and subsidence prone area’. Reportedly, over 60 residents lived in uninhabited dwellings in the sinking city and were moved to temporary relief centres. Amidst this situation, a landslide occurred in January, affecting the living and mental condition of the people living there, especially the students who were preparing for their board exams.

Due to the difficult living conditions, there was a constant worry that the schools would ever close. But, the students flourished in these dire circumstances and passed out with good marks while living in the relief camps. The school and their respective family members are also proud of their achievements. Reportedly, Snehlatha scored 492 out of 500 in her class 12th exam.

According to reports, Snehlata told that the landslide happened in January when she was preparing for her exams. They were worried whether the schools would open or not. She was also concerned about several other factors, including being displaced. However, he claimed that even after so much doubt, everything turned out well.

The teachers were very encouraging and the family also supported her, which helped her in her achievements. He also revealed what his teachers asked the students to do to score well in the exams. He said that if they (students) want to get marks on the basis of their merit then they should stay away from mobile phones and social media.
