Aap Ki Adalat: Union minister Smriti Irani has challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to answer five questions about the Adani group before demanding a JPC probe. She was answering questions from India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma during his prestigious show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’.
Smriti Irani said, “Modi is silent because he is Pradhan Sevak. He has to drink poison everyday. As far as Adani is concerned, if you meet Rahul Gandhi, ask him these five questions. Question No. 1- When his Maa was party chief during UPA regime, did the then government give Rs 72,000 crore loan to Adani? Q No. 2- Did Gehlot (CM of Rajasthan) sign Rs 60,000 crore industrial package with Adani with Rahul’s blessings Q. No. 3- Did the Adani group get special help and support for coal mines during the Congress rule in Chhattisgarh? Q. No. 4- Was Dr. Manmohan Singh the Finance Minister when the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Chimanbhai Patel Adani was given land to build a port in Gujarat? Question No. 5 – When Rajiv Gandhi was the PM, was the new EXIM policy announced in 1985 and the Adani trading house established? …Rahul was first Answer these five questions.
The Union minister lashed out at the Congress and Rahul Gandhi for making personal attacks on Prime Minister Modi and his parents.
He said, “A Congress leader said in Punjab that Adani-Ambani are only ‘excuses’, the main goal is: finish Modi. Rahul Gandhi did not object. Congress leader near an airplane at Delhi airport Sitting and raising slogans. ‘Modi, teri kabr khudegi’. They want to see the power of democracy, and on the other hand their own people in Congress are openly threatening to kill the Prime Minister. And our Pradhan Sevak smilingly goes about his work Someone makes fun of the dead parents of the prime minister? What did some Congressmen do when Modiji’s mother passed away at the age of 100? Smriti Irani said, Rahul should apologize for insulting India abroad. She said: “Why should Indian taxpayers pay for the mistakes of Rahul or the Congress? They lied, and insulted India in a foreign land. They invited foreign powers to intervene. India today is the 5th most populous country in the world.” Big economy and bright future ahead. Rahul Gandhi attacked us in London. We can fight amongst ourselves inside the parliament, but he attacked the future of our young generation. Rajat Sharma: But the Parliament is not being allowed to function?
Smriti Irani: “We are letting this go on. Why don’t they apologise? Parliament is a gathering of MPs, but the tricolor of India flies above. Millions of Indians gave their lives for this flag.”
Rajat Sharma: But Rahul says, he is not being allowed to speak here in universities, in Parliament?
Smriti Irani: If you look at the proceedings of the Parliament, the Gandhi family has sent a representative to the Parliament who publicly said, “Chaar-chah maaro” (hit four or six) everybody has seen it. They stood on chairs and threw books and papers on the Vice President’s chair. The speaker is not our speaker, not the speaker of the BJP, he is the speaker of the Lok Sabha. We the people’s representatives are the servants of the public. If they throw paper in front of the speaker on the instructions of Rahul Gandhi and Soniaji, will the people of India accept it?”
Rajat Sharma: But they say, we are not allowed to speak in Parliament, our mikes are muted?
Smriti Irani: How can the mic be muted? Those who saw Rahul’s press conference, were they able to speak alone? He needs an assistant to speak. Consider what he said. He said, ‘Unfortunately I am a member of Parliament.’ This is the public, everyone knows.
Smriti Irani alleged how the Gandhi family neglected the Amethi constituency for 40 years. “I will rub Rahul Gandhi’s nose at the feet of the people of Amethi,” she said.
She said: “Eight years ago, they used to say ‘Smriti who’? By God’s blessings, the same Smriti, about whom they used to make derogatory remarks and deny her personality, has now become a headache for them. The army is after a petty MP from Amethi. This is their sore point. I destroyed their 40 year old empire in Amethi. The man they were hailing as the uncrowned king of their political legacy , he is now walking on the streets. I dared to challenge him and I am ready to face the punishment. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, I had said in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ that if I am followed by Congress goons If I have to pay the price, I am ready to accept the challenge. Rahul ji has insulted the people of Amethi when he was a Member of Parliament. He has not allowed Amethi to move forward. So my name is not Smriti Irani.”
