Greater Noida: A skill development center will be installed with Yamuna Expressway in the coming months. As several mega projects are being planned in this area, the need is felt to set up a skill development center to groom the local youth.
Sharing the roadmap for the next three years, YEIDA CEO Arun Veer Singh said that the local people have raised the demand for setting up of training centers to improve the skills of the young population living in the villages notified under the authority. Officials said that training sessions and skill development programs would be started within the next six months.
Sharing his plans for the future of the region, Jewar BJP MLA Dhirendra Singh said that the CMO in Lucknow has been asked to intervene and help establish the center at the earliest.
Dhirendra said, “We have proposed to Yeda that a skill development university on the lines of Haryana and Rajasthan Rajasthan To be established along Yamuna Expressway. This will not only benefit the local population, but it will also be easier for the youth of neighboring districts to get employment.
Apprentice programs and short-term courses that can train graduates to handle daily tasks at the airport are being sought. “Most of the job opportunities in the apparel sectors are given to women. We are going to approach the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and seek their help in setting up training institutes in the belt,” the CEO said, adding that within the next three years, industrial units and the airport would start commercial operations and training.
Primarily rural, the Jewar area is set to transform into an urban center in the next 10 years. The MLA said that in the last four and a half years, the state government has approved development and civic works like parks, roads, sports facilities, drains, education and health, amounting to Rs 515 crore.
