US pop singer Pink has offered to pay a fine to the Norwegian beach handball team for wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms.
Pink said he was “very proud” of the team for opposing a rule prohibiting him from wearing shorts like his male counterparts.
In a tweet posted on Sunday, Pink said: “The European Handball Federation should be fined for sexism. Good on you, ladies.” She further added that “I would be happy to pay the fine for you. continue this.”

At the European Beach Handball Championships in Bulgaria last week, Norway’s women’s team was fined 1,500 euros ($1,770) for what the EU called inappropriate clothing and “violation of clothing rules”. The rules stipulate that women must wear bikini bottoms while men wear shorts.
The Norwegian Handball Federation did not oppose the decision, which was deemed unfair by the Norwegian team and many others, and previously announced that it was prepared to pay the fine.
