According to a tweet by Sony LIV, the film will start streaming on the OTT platform from December 24.
Sony Liv announced the OTT release of the film in a tweet on December 17.
Ever since the outbreak of the Kovid-19 pandemic, going out to watch movies was stopped. OTT platforms saved the day for filmmakers during the pandemic-induced lockdown period. Along with web series and shows, filmmakers also released their films on this platform. Now that theaters are in the works once again, OTT platforms are also buying streaming rights of movies after their release in theatres. Actor Silambarasan’s science fiction Manadu, which opened in theaters on November 25 this year, is all set to stream on OTT platform Sony Liv.
According to a tweet by Sony LIV, the film will start streaming on the OTT platform from December 24.
“What does destiny hold for Abdul Khaliq as he gets caught in a time loop? Get ready to watch Streaming, on repeating Manadu on Sony LIV on 24th December,” read a tweet from the OTT platform.
The film also stars SJ Surya and Kalyani Priyadarshan in pivotal roles.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh, the film is a sci-fi thriller and tells the story of a man who gets caught in a time loop. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music of the film and cinematography by Richard M Nathan.
Manadu’s production was hit due to the Covid-19 pandemic as a crucial scene to be filmed at the Maldivian airport was delayed as the government banned the entry of passengers from India into the country. The film’s release was also postponed from the initial release planned for August 2021 due to restrictions imposed after the second wave of the pandemic.
