Sikh body writes letter to President, demands to take back Kangana Ranaut’s Padma Shri

The Sikh body on Saturday filed a police complaint against Kangana for allegedly making seditious and derogatory remarks on social media. In her letter to the President, DSGMC and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has written that Kangana is “deliberately inciting Sikhs”, making a reference to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

“She does not deserve this honour. She does not represent the spirit of India which is based on harmony and goodness for all. Padmashree for insulting farmers, Sikhs and freedom fighters, keeping social sentiments in mind. They should be taken back immediately.” stated in the letter.

Sirsa said a delegation of DSGMC will visit Mumbai on Monday to meet Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and file a complaint against the actor. Sirsa alleged, “This time it will be ensured that Kangana Ranaut does not get bail and she goes to jail for repeatedly spewing venom against Sikhs. She is playing the Hindutva card for cheap propaganda.”
