Malvinder Singh Mali, advisor to Punjab Congress President Navjot Sidhu, has been embroiled in a controversy by posting a sketch of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on his Facebook page. Mali has shared the cover of a Punjabi magazine named Jan Tak Paigam, published in 1989, on social media. In this, Indira Gandhi is standing on a pile of human skulls and a skull is also hanging on the gun in her hand.

It is written in this sketch that ‘Har Jabar di hi ki kahani, karna jabar te mouth di khani’ i.e. this is the story of every oppressor that he has to face in the end’. Actually this photo shows the massacre in 1984 Sikh riots. The Sikh community considers Prime Minister Indira Gandhi responsible for this. In this, the editor of the magazine was also Malvinder Singh Mali at that time.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is close to the Gandhi family and has often been sharing his photos with them to convey his closeness to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Because of this, Congress leaders have reacted strongly to this photo. Asked the gardener to remove the sketch. However, despite opposition from the leaders, Mali has not removed it. Nor did he apologize. Sidhu has appointed Mali as his advisor on August 11 itself.

Controversial posts regarding Jammu and Kashmir
Earlier, Malvinder Singh Mali had made controversial remarks about Jammu and Kashmir in his Facebook post. In this post, he had told Jammu and Kashmir a separate country. Mali had said that he had given a statement about Kashmir that it should be liberated. Apart from this, he had told the illegal occupation of Kashmir by Pakistan and India.

Captain reprimanded
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s advisor Malvinder Mali has been strongly reprimanded by Amarinder Singh. The Captain said that he should be limited to advising the Punjab Congress chief only. Do not make any statement on issues about which you are not aware and especially when you do not even know what the consequences may be.

The Captain has also tagged Navjot Singh Sidhu in this tweet through his media advisor Raveen Thukral. The Captain said that Kashmir is an integral part of India. He termed the rhetoric made about Kashmir and Pakistan as anti-national.
