Among the dead are 4 members of Kisan Paksha and 3 workers and drivers of Ajay Mishra Teni. A journalist injured in this violence died during treatment on 4 October.

Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu said in a statement on Thursday that he would go on a hunger strike if the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni is not arrested soon. Sidhu made this statement when he was on his way from Mohali to Lakhimpur to meet the family members of the victim.
