The sitting judge of the High Court will not investigate the Sidhu Musewala murder case. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has denied this. On the demand of Moosewala’s father, the Punjab government had sent a letter to the High Court Registrar. In the reply given to the government, it was said that it has never happened before that the High Court asks a sitting judge to investigate in such a case. In view of this, the family members of Musewala can meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah today. Shah is coming to Chandigarh today.

Due to this demand, the family had stopped the post-mortem
Musewala was murdered on 29 May in Jawaharke village of Mansa. On May 30, the family demanded an inquiry from the sitting judge of the High Court. He did not give permission for the post-mortem. After which Home Secretary Anurag Verma wrote a letter to the High Court Registrar. Only after that the post-mortem was done.

Musewala was gunned down on May 29 at 5.30 pm in the village of Jawaharke in Mansa.

Mann Sarkar had suggested an inquiry from a retired judge
After the High Court’s refusal, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government had suggested the family to be investigated by a retired High Court judge. He was also given 5 names. However, he is demanding a sitting judge.

SIT is investigating Punjab Police
Punjab Police is currently investigating the Sidhu Musewala murder case. Which is being monitored by ADGP Pramod Ban of Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF). A total of 5 members including IG Jaskaran Singh, AIG Gurmeet Chauhan have been included in this. However, till now the police has not been able to make any big disclosure in this case.
