Sidhu Musewala was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa on Sunday.
Hours after the murder of popular Punjabi singer-turned-politician Sidhu Musewala on Sunday, a Canadian gangster Goldie Brar has claimed responsibility for the murder. Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has also surfaced in the murder.
“He and Lawrence Bishnoi were behind the group murder”, Brar wrote on his social media account to claim responsibility.
“Today Musewala was killed in Punjab, I, Sachin Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi take responsibility. It is our job. Musewala’s name cropped up in the murder of our brother Vikramjit Singh Middukheda and Gurlal Brar, but Punjab Police did not take any action against him. We also came to know that Moosewala was also involved in the encounter of our colleague Ankit Bhadoo. Moosewala was working against us. Delhi Police had taken his name but Moosewala used his political power and smudged his skin every time. Saved,” Goldie wrote on her social media post.
Less than 24 hours after the government cut his security, 28-year-old Moosewala, who had millions of fans, was shot dead near his village in Mansa district.
Musewala was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The Civil Surgeon of Mansa Hospital said that Musewala was brought dead, while two others were referred to another hospital for treatment.
What was the root of the controversy?
Vikramjit Singh Middukheda, a 33-year-old Youth Akali Dal leader, was shot dead on August 7, 2021. There were allegations that Moosewala had instructed his manager Shagunpreet Singh to carry out the murder. It was alleged that Singh had hired members of the Kaushal gang to carry out the murder of Middukheda.
Singh had fled abroad in April this year after his name cropped up during the probe.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police apprehended Anil Kumar alias Lath, Sajjan Singh alias Bholu and Ajay Kumar alias Sunny, members of Kaushal-Bambia-Lucky Padial gang. He was later handed over to the Punjab Police.
He had told the police that Bhupi Rana and Amit Dagar were involved in giving direction to Middukheda’s murder. Moosewala was on the radar of Brar and Bishnoi gang since then.
