Tasneem was part of India’s campaign in the Thomas and Uber Cup held in Denmark last year and she says it had a huge impact on her game.

Tasneem got her first lessons on badminton from her father Irfan Mir, who is a badminton coach and also an ASI in Mehsana Police.

Tasneem, whose younger brother Mohammad Ali Mir, the Gujarat state junior champion, also trains with him in Guwahati, has achieved a feat since his youthful days.
She won the national junior champion (under-19) at the age of 14 and claimed the national crown in the under-13, under-15 and under-19 girls’ singles categories.
Tasneem also won the Under-15 singles and doubles titles at the All India Sub-Junior Ranking tournaments in Hyderabad and Nagpur in 2018.
At the 2019 World Junior Championships in Russia, she could not progress past the Round of 32, but returned to win titles at the Asian Under-17 and Under-15 Junior Championships in Indonesia the same year.
She also emerged victorious in the President’s Cup Nepal Junior International Series 2020 in Kathmandu.
“I have to work on my stamina and the mental aspect of my game, which will play a big role. I believe in my shots but it’s important to focus on my mind,” he added.
