The back injury forced him to undergo surgery which has been completed successfully, however the middle-order batsman will miss not only the IPL 2023 season but also the upcoming WTC final which will be held at The Oval in London.

The above report states that Shreyas Iyer is likely to be sidelined for the next three months as he recovers from a back issue. Thus, the WTC final is too soon for him, however, he should be fully fit before the ODI World Cup later this year.
