Shraddha Kapoor celebrates ‘Gudi Padwa’ in traditional style, wishes fans Marathi New Year

new Delhi: The gorgeous Shraddha Kapoor may have impressed us with her stunning western and desi looks, however, on the special occasion of Gudi Padwa she now wears the traditional ‘Nauvari’ saree which holds special meaning for the actress.

Talking about the festival, Shraddha Kapoor shared, “With Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navratri and Ugadi, I look forward to starting the new year on a happy, optimistic and positive note. I started my day. With some homemade Maharashtrian food, some of which I even took to the sets for my team. The day is about spending time with my loved ones and cherishing the little moments.”

She shared pictures of herself wearing a beautiful Nauvari saree on her social media. In the caption, he wrote, “Let’s start the new year with fresh ideas, Happy Gudi Padwa!”

For those unaware, ‘Nauvari’ celebrated a woman’s strength and fighting spirit. Traditionally worn by women to fight in battle back in the day, the sari allowed mobility and freedom of movement and was not merely an aesthetic dress.

The festival of Gudi Padwa always holds a special place in the heart of Shraddha Kapoor as she is a Maharashtrian from her mother’s side of the family. Earlier in 2020, the actress posted a black and white picture of her grandmother, mother and herself dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire.

On the work front, the actress is busy shooting for her next film with Ranbir Kapoor these days. The film is directed by Luv Ranjan of ‘Lukka Chuppi’ fame. Apart from this, she also has Pankaj Parashar’s ‘Chalbaaz In London’ and Vishal Furia’s ‘Naagin’ coming up.
