Bhagalpur: Five doctors of the district Bhagalpur sadar A show cause notice was issued to the hospital by the district health department for failing to comply with the government instruction to log in. E Sanjeevani OPD Portal and providing teleconsultation healthcare services to needy patients at their homes.
e-Sanjeevani OPD, also known as Stay Home OPD, is a first of its kind online telemedicine consultation, launched by the Government of India. Ministry of Health and Family WelfareGovernment of India, to provide health services to patients at their homes through video-based clinical consultation with a doctor in a hospital.
Major services provided through eSanjeevani OPD teleconsultation includes patient registration, audio-video consultation with doctor, e-prescription, SMS/e-mail notifications by state government doctors at no charge. E-Sanjeevani OPD counseling is scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 09.00 AM to 02.00 PM.
Bhagalpur Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Umesh Sharma said, “We are concerned about government doctors disobeying instructions regarding e-Sanjeevani OPD teleconsultation, an exceptionally important healthcare scheme for the needy. On receipt of information about the laxity on the part of the doctors, an inquiry was conducted and show cause notices were issued to the five guilty doctors.
“After issuing the show cause notice, we are taking steps to deduct their one day’s salary,” the CS said, adding that “the state health department will be informed about it.”
