NOIDA is facing shortage of experts. Noida Authority Six posts have been appointed for retired government employees below 65 years of age.
To manage a city with a population of 6.37 lakh as per 2011 census, the authority depends on a Number of Employees of less than 5,500 employees. Out of these only 960 employees are permanent and rest are on contract or on post. vendors associated with authority.
“We are proceeding as per the instructions of the state government and are looking for retired government employees. At present, advertisement has been issued for six posts. The tenure of the person will last for six months,” said Officer on Special Duty (Personnel) Avinash Tripathi.
Another official said the authority officials would then review the specialist’s work and contribution and extend the terms of engagement accordingly.
Selected person will get monthly salary 50,000 approx.
Though various government departments are offering extension of service to competent employees after the approval of the government, this is the first time that the recruitment drive has been started in Noida to hire half a dozen ex-employees. Only those employees who have served in government run corporations, civic bodies or development authorities will be considered for the posts.
While three positions are being offered in the accounts section, three others are for civil works, revenue department work (as tehsildar) and horticulture works.
Only persons below 65 years of age will be considered for the job. The person will also have to produce a fitness certificate signed by the Chief Medical Superintendent of a government hospital or the Chief Medical Officer of GB Nagar.
The service record and history of the retired employee will also be scrutinized to ascertain whether he has faced any departmental inquiry or action in the past. The authority will post its exact requirement on its web portal in the coming days and will shortlist the candidates after evaluation.
Ashish Srivastava, retired joint director of UP State Bridge Corporation Ltd, told TOI that the retired employees have a better understanding and experience of working within the government structure. “They also command more respect and have stronger ties than private players. The clause to review their performance after six months will also encourage them to deliver better results.”
