Shock to RCA, Priya Punia’s separation from Rajasthan Cricket News – Times of India

Jaipur: India’s batsman Priya Punia have decided to separate from Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). The 24-year-old received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from RCA Saturday afternoon and she said, “I haven’t decided yet which state I will represent in the domestic season 2021-22.” The Churu-born player had switched from Delhi Rajasthan Rajasthan During the last domestic season.
her father and coach Surendra Punia Told TOI that they were not happy with RCA’s attitude and this was the main reason behind the decision.
“Promises made by RCA while taking the services of Priya as a professional were not fulfilled. In the last few days when I tried to contact the RCA office bearers, some did not pick up my phone and others called for those problems. refrained from talking about what we were facing with the association,” he said.
The opener has represented India in seven ODIs and three T20Is, and plays for the Supernovas in the Women’s T20 Challenge. The right-handed batsman was brought to Rajasthan as a professional with an aim to strengthen the team which was struggling to find its footing in the domestic circuit. Punia’s decision is a setback for RCA and it reflects badly on them too, putting a question mark on the functioning of the state body.
